Stéphane grew
up in the Côtes Armor and at the age of 9 was already taking part in pony
races in Brittany.This gave him a taste of what he wanted to do in life and
in 1982 he joined the jockey school.The Windmill-at Chantilly as an
apprentice of François Boutin .Here he
rides Jean-Luc Lagardere horse and also ones from the Niarchos stable .But he
grows too tall and after a reconversion into obstacle races Stéphane then
discovers a new passion when he meets the Breton entertainment company.The
wandering entertainers of the Silver
Valley .In 1993 he meets Patrick
Gruss Alexis brither in Nomandy and the teaches him to work with show horses particularly on
long reins.
On
the other hand, Cristina , who is
a newly qualified instructor, after 2 years with Franck David ( s pupil) goes to Normandy to
improve her dressage skills with the dressage rider Françoise Kloninger She
is drawn towards this discipline as
well as the other artistic fields (music,danse and acrobatics) as well
as a sensibility in particular for other cultures of the world encouraged by
various trips abroad to armongst others India and Africa .This leads her
rapidly to the discipline of equestrian shows.She decides to create her own
shool of dressage/shows and whilst looking for horses she meets Stephane from
whom she buys a 6 month old Frison foal Funambul ( tightrope walker ).From
then on
they continue their journey together .Searching for
sunshine , they leave for the Provence and it in this beautiful area of
Forcalquier that they create in 1997 the Korrigan stable .
En 2000 , la famille s’ agrandit avec
la naissance de leur fille Lou puis
en 2005 de son petit frère Léo .
Spectacle , dressage , pension ,
stages et leçons, poneys , les activités de l’ écurie sont multiples avec
pour dénominateur commun un grand amour et un grand respect du cheval et une
approche de l’ équitation plus artistique que compétitive . L’ idée était de
créer un lieu où les chevaux sont heureux et ou chacun – petit ou grand- peut
dans de bonnes conditions se perfectionner dans l’ art équestre .
Remarqués par la qualité de
leurs prestations dans tous les domaines, leur clientèle se multiplie et,
dans le monde du spectacle équestre qu’ils affectionnent tout
particulièrement, là ou la poussière se transforme par magie en poudre d’or,
l’écurie
Korrigan saura rapidement se distinguer par
son style détonnant et subtil .
